My StORY

Hi, I’m Sylvia – mum of three, eternal tea drinker (never coffee!), Hypnobirthing instructor and lover of calm… even if my daily life with kids is anything but!
I know exactly how overwhelming pregnancy and birth can feel. My first experience back in 2014 left me scared, lost and totally unprepared. I thought birth was just something painful and messy that I had to ‘get through’. I didn’t trust my body, had no tools to help and didn’t realise I could make informed choices. I felt helpless and honestly, a bit clueless. As labour progressed, I remember thinking, “when will this end?” I felt emotionally and physically drained and I wished I’d felt more in control and at peace. This is one of main reasons why I’m so passionate about helping women have a more positive and empowering experience!

By the time I was pregnant with my second in 2017, I joined a pregnancy yoga class, mainly for a bit of me-time. I learned how to breathe and move my body during my contractions. That birth felt totally different! I actually enjoyed it. Imagine that! That’s how I would love for every woman to feel!
When I had my third baby during the COVID chaos, I leaned on those same breathing techniques. But it wasn’t until after that birth that I finally discovered what Hypnobirthing really is, not some ‘hippy nonsense’, but a powerful, evidence-based approach that connects the mind and body and transforms how we experience labour. I was shocked. Why weren’t we all taught this? Why did I do it the hard way? How do so many of us go into labour without this knowledge, without understanding how our body is designed for birth, without the tools to stay calm and in control and without the deep trust that birth can be a positive experience?
Every woman deserves to know that birth doesn’t have to be filled with fear and it isn’t just something to survive, it can be something we remember with pride, power and even joy.
That’s why I created NüNest Hypnobirthing, to help parents prepare not just with knowledge and tools, but with trust in their bodies, confidence in their choices and a calm mindset that carries them through.
I’m here to support you in feeling ready, empowered and excited to meet your baby. I believe birth doesn’t last just a day or two, it’s an experience that stays with us for a lifetime.
When I’m not teaching or sitting at my desk, you’ll probably find me walking alone in nature (whenever I get the chance!) or running after the kids if they’re with me.
Life isn’t always calm but I’ve learned that calm isn’t about silence, it’s about mindset. And that’s what I want to help you find too.
So whether you’re feeling anxious, curious or excited about birth, I’m here to help you feel more relaxed and prepared to meet your baby.
Let’s make your birth one to remember – for all the right reasons.

“Birth is not only about making babies. It’s about making mothers – strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”
